Born Chyna Talbot, Los Angeles, 2381. She is the youngest of three children with two brothers.
Joined Starfleet straight out of nursing school in 2400. Met her future husband, Douglas Michaels, on her first posting, the USS Coolidge. He was an engineering petty officer; she was a nurse. Married, 2403.
Both transferred to USS Pathfinder, 2408. Promoted to Chief Petty Officer and Head Nurse, 2409.

Chyna and Doug are devoted to each other, but they have yet to have children. Although they both find this disappointing, they find life in Starfleet sufficiently satisfying. One of their expressed goals for life post-Starfleet is to look into the possibility of adopting.
